SRM ALUMNI Networking Event

Guest Speaker

Description

On Thursday 18th April the Security Risk Management Alumni will be hosting our first Networking evening of 2019. This event is taking place at The Frontline Club, Paddington, London, where you will have the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals from across both the public and private Security Sectors in the comfort of an ideally positioned location. We are honoured and delighted to welcome Brian Wood MC to the SRM Alumni stage as our Guest Speaker for the night. At the age of 23, Brian Wood was thrust into the front line in Iraq, in the Infamous Battle of Danny Boy. Ambushed, he led a bayonet charge across open ground with at least 20 insurgents firing at just five soldiers. On his return, he was awarded the Military Cross, BUT Brian's story had only just begun. Struggling to re-integrate into family life, he suffered from PTSD. Then, five years later, a letter arrived: it summoned him to testify at the Al-Sweady enquiry into allegations of war crimes by British soldiers during the Iraq invasion of 2003. The rest of the story, we’ll leave Brian to tell on the night.

We kindly ask Guests to arrive at The Frontline Club promptly at around 7 - 7.30pm, where you will receive welcome drinks and be able to listen to the welcoming speech from a member of the SRM Alumni team. We will then invite Brian Wood to the stage where I’m sure he will give you one of the most Motivational/Inspirational talks you would have heard. He's a great guy, who has an incredible story and you will NOT be disappointed. There will be a further selection of complimentary Drinks available (Beer, Wine and Soft Drinks) as well as canapes throughout the night. Once this runs dry, there will be a cash bar available with the evening ending when the venue closes at 11:30pm. Tickets for this event to SRM Alumni members are £20 each and £30 to Guests, both including Vat.

The Dress Code for the evening is Smart/Casual Dress (no Trainers).
